Coordinated Campaign: Northern Nevada Regional Political Director for Tribal Outreach

Biden for President is seeking a dedicated Northern Nevada Regional Political Director for Tribal Outreach to join our Nevada team. This position will support the Political and Coalitions Director by specifically focusing on building and strengthening relationships with tribal communities and leaders across Northern Nevada for the 2024 election cycle. The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about political change, has significant experience in political campaigns within Nevada, and possesses strong skills in community outreach, coalition building, and cultural competence in engaging with Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with elected Tribal officials, community members of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe and surrounding Tribal communities.
  • Collaborate with Tribal leaders and across departments to grow a base of Native volunteers through stakeholder coordination and mobilization.
  • Work across departments to ensure smooth integration of coalitions work and that tactics, targets, and messaging meet the needs of Native voters.
  • Coordinate with tribal groups for grassroots events, media opportunities, and communications efforts that resonate with tribal communities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a culturally relevant approach to engagement, integrating tribal outreach with broader campaign strategies.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Established connections with tribal communities and leaders in Northern Nevada.
  • Proven political experience in Nevada, with a preference for candidates who have worked directly with tribal communities.
  • At least one election cycle of experience in campaign roles and staff management within the state.
  • Demonstrated ability in building and managing coalitions within diverse communities, specifically with tribal and Indigenous groups.
  • Strong understanding of culturally competent organizing and a track record of effective work with grassroots tribal organizations.
