Nevada, the most diverse battleground state, will hold the 2nd Democratic primary in the nation next year
During this weekend’s quarterly meeting, the Nevada State Democratic Party State Central Committee voted to formally adopt the 2024 Delegate Selection Plan, which lays out the rules and procedures for the allocation and election of delegates from Nevada to the 2024 Democratic National Convention. The plan incorporated feedback from central committee members, community stakeholders, and Nevada Democrats across the state. NV Dems are committed to establishing and executing a delegate selection plan that reflects the cultural, ethnic and geographical diversity of our state.
“NV Dems worked incredibly hard to include every voice in our 2024 Delegate Selection Plan and because of that effort, we created a process that will represent our state’s diversity,” said Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno. “Democrats have long been invested in strengthening Nevadans’ voices at the ballot box. As Nevada continues to move up in the Democratic nominating calendar and moves from a caucus to a primary, this new Delegate Selection Plan will continue to make sure Nevada Democrats build the organizing momentum to win heading into the 2024 general election.”
Early voting period: Saturday, January 27 – Friday, February 2
Primary Election Day: Tuesday, February 6
