Brown was the local president of Faith & Freedom Coalition up until October 2023
The ultra-conservative anti-abortion organization Faith & Freedom Coalition announced this week that they will spend $62 million to boost Donald Trump’s campaign to take back the White House. The radical dark money group has close ties to MAGA extremist and Nevada Senate candidate Sam Brown, who served as the group’s local president from November 2022 until October of 2023 and referred to it as his “passion project.”
Faith & Freedom Coalition is an extreme group strongly opposed to abortion rights. Faith & Freedom called Roe v. Wade a “moral atrocity,” backed a nationwide abortion ban and praised Texas’ six-week ban that outlaws abortion before many women even know they are pregnant. Brown is also currently facing a Department of Justice complaint for failing to disclose his leadership position within the organization as required by federal ethics rules.
Earlier this year, Brown joined his MAGA primary opponents in endorsing Trump, who has bragged about being responsible for the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and recently came out in support of a national abortion ban.
Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz
“As the local president of Faith & Freedom Coalition, Sam Brown played a key leadership role in supporting an extreme anti-abortion dark money group that’s now spending tens of millions of dollars to reelect Donald Trump and continue pushing for a nationwide abortion ban. The facts are clear that Brown has a proven track record of supporting efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade and embracing an extreme MAGA agenda to rip away reproductive freedom.”
