Sam Brown Doubles Down On Extreme Agenda, Admits He Opposes Federal Protections for IVF

New reporting from the Las Vegas Review-Journal revealed that MAGA extremist Sam Brown would vote against federal protections for IVF and other assisted reproductive services if he were in the Senate, once again confirming that he cannot be trusted to stand up for Nevadans’ reproductive rights.

Despite claiming he “supported access to fertility treatment,” Brown would have fallen in line with Senate Republicans – led by his top ally, Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith – as they blocked legislation in the Senate to protect IVF access under federal law.

Brown has made his extreme opposition to abortion rights clear over the last decade. He has repeatedly supported abortion bans with no exceptions for rape or incest, including an extreme abortion ban in Texas that was considered one of the “toughest restrictions in the country,” and he strongly supported overturning Roe v. Wade.  Brown even declared that his anti-abortion position is “non-negotiable” for him.

Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz

“Anti-abortion extremists like Sam Brown opened the door for these dangerous attacks on reproductive health care, and now he’s made it clear that he would vote against federal protections for families pursuing fertility treatment. We won’t let Nevada voters forget that while Jacky Rosen fights for a woman’s right to make her own family planning decisions, Sam Brown is a dangerous threat to every Nevadan’s ability to choose how and when to start a family.”
